Lambton College - Nova Chemicals Health and Research Centre

Avolution completed the A/V integration of the 60,000 sq. ft. NOVA Chemicals Health & Research Centre at Lambton College in 2019. Designed to accommodate health sciences programming, interdisciplinary learning, and applied research, the new building boasts a 40-bed nursing lab, two intensive care units, two simulated advanced care suites, three active learning classrooms, a 140-seat amphitheatre, paramedic lab, 1240-seat gymnasium, fitness facility and various advanced technology simulation training spaces.

The Paramedic Simulation Lab pictured above is equipped with multiple cameras to provide remote evaluation and archiving of student performance. Control of the lab and A/V equipment throughout the room is provided remotely, leveraging Crestron DMPS hardware and custom touchscreen control.

The various medical simulation labs are equipped with cameras, mics, video capture and archiving hardware. Crestron control is employed to keep interfaces simple, whether presenting or reviewing footage.

Crestron control systems throughout the college are configured with parallel graphic interfaces for ease of use.This ensures that the comfort level with the technology is consistent throughout the facility among staff and students, regardless of the learning environment.
